Intensive Intervention

Kyungja-Pyeongji (驚者平之)

"Startle the lifted one to level it."
A technique breaking fixated emotional states with strong paradoxical stimulus (Shock)
to induce a new psychological homeostasis.

Mechanism: Gong-Seung-Hui (Fear overcomes Joy)

This therapy actively utilizes the 'Water controls Fire' principle of the Five Elements.

It controls the scattered 'Qi' caused by excessive joy or distraction (Fire) using artificial fear or surprise (Water), lowering the excited energy down from the chest.

Note: The general mutual generation/control principles are covered in the Oji-Sangseung (Theory) page. Here, we focus on Systematic Desensitization and Habituation mechanisms.
